GGC is a proprietary platform with capabilities that identifies unique giving opportunities and social ventures in Israel and the Jewish world, while connecting like-minded funders globally through a membership-based community. Our user-friendly interface can be accessed at any time, from any place, by multiple family members, professional advisors, and foundation stakeholders for the purposes of reviewing and considering philanthropic opportunities.

Unique Sourcing, Vetting and Curating

Members are invited to consider professionally vetted opportunities, including some which are exclusive and/or first-seen on our platform. Our due diligence ensures that projects are implemented by best in class, trustworthy organizations working on the front lines of social change. We monitor outcomes and provide reporting to funders so that you can be confident that your funds are being put to highest-impact use. Matching gift opportunities will be offered periodically. Members will also receive an annual report on GGC’s overall impact.

Secure, Centralized Service Platform

GGC’s private boutique platform is password protected and accessible to pre-approved members only. We provide a seamless private dashboard that allows you to track and monitor your giving, flag your highest priority interests, choose your favorite grantees and seek more in-depth information – including by arranging a private call with professionals from GGC or a grantee organization.  Your inquiries are kept confidential from the grantee and other members until the time that you decide to make a gift. We can also facilitate anonymous gifts if you choose.

Members receive exclusive access to entrepreneurial, creative and high impact philanthropic projects in Israel and the Jewish world, backed by a robust level of research and due diligence, including on-site visits by our team with the grantees.

Membership enables philanthropists and their families to leverage their philanthropic dollars with like-minded peers to maximize impact, including through periodic matching gift opportunities.  The proprietary platform also offers a new, technologically based interface accessible 24/7, giving families an exciting way to integrate multiple generations into their giving programs.

GGC monitors outcomes and provides impact reports to funders.  We facilitate member-only events and briefings with exclusive access to social entrepreneurs and organizational leaders, updates through regular GGC newsletters and peer networking opportunities so that funders can seek advice and advance partnerships. Members also have exclusive access to VIP site visits in Israel.

GGC will source unique, high-impact social ventures in Israel and the Jewish world, guided by the collective wisdom of GGC members.  Once prospective projects are identified, GGC will embark on a rigorous and in-depth vetting process, including review of the organization’s history, mission, track record of impact and charitable status. GGC will work directly with the organization’s leadership to determine needs and set project parameters, assess project outcomes and scope the budget. We will conduct in-person site visits, to the greatest extent possible.

Working with a lay task force and professional advisory committee, GGC will gauge the potential for impact and compatibility of the project with interests of GGC members. At this stage, GGC will determine whether to showcase the project and set a funding goal, suggest consideration at a later date or decline the project.

Membership is open to individuals, families, and foundations who are committed to philanthropic giving at major gift levels in Israel and the Jewish world.

Annual membership dues of $5,000 are tax-deductible in the U.S, Canada, Australia, Israel and the U.K. With a minimum two-year commitment. Your membership contribution enables GGC to operate as a 501(c)(3) fiscally sponsored non-profit, providing a unique, high-touch approach to engagement of philanthropists through a proprietary platform.

There is no minimum giving requirement to projects, although funders are encouraged to review the opportunities with an open mind and consider generous support to meet the stated needs.

All members agree to a membership onboarding process, which includes a 30-minute Zoom meeting with a GGC team member to orient you to the site and identify initial interests, priorities and giving preferences.

Each project showcased on the GGC site lists a funding need in USD. Members indicate their intention to contribute by clicking on a suggested donation amount or adding a custom amount of your own. Clicking “donate” indicates your intention only, and you will receive a follow-up email with further instructions. Members may contribute using credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, stock, or by recommending a grant from your foundation or donor advised fund to The Giving Back Fund for benefit of Giving Group Community <specify project name>. The Giving Back Fund is a 501c(3) organization, Tax ID 04-3367888.

Members can also set up a virtual wallet with a single gift to GGC, making decisions to disburse funds to specific project at a later date. You may also grant directly to the organization or project after learning about it on the GGC platform. When giving directly, we ask that you let us know so that we may track your support along with others from the GGC community.

Yes, absolutely!  Until we have a technology solution for this, we invite you to schedule a call with our team so that we understand your priorities and can share information on the type of projects you are seeking.

The minimum suggested donation to any project is $1,000, although funders are welcome to donate at any level – from $1,000 to the maximum project budget.  Our goal is that, on average, our members contribute $25,000 annually through the GGC platform.

Yes. Our goal is to help curate internal family conversations about philanthropy and Israel and the Jewish world. Each member account will have a master account and be able to invite and assign sub-member accounts to other family members and/or professional advisors.

Yes. This is one of our uniquely designed features. The master member account can add sub-user accounts from their dashboard and create a virtual wallet so that children, grandchildren or others can make grants directly. This enables the user to research, learn, choose and engage. The whole family can view a joint portfolio of the giving areas, impact reports and saved projects in the dashboard.

Yes. You can set your visibility preferences from your member profile, including to decide whether to share your contact information with other members, be presented as anonymous (only your country of residence will be shown), and/or whether to present your name when donating to a project. GGC will honor your preferences.

The goal is to showcase new opportunities on an ongoing basis, with an average of 60-80 opportunities per year.

Each project may vary but, in general, they will be short-term appeals of up to six months.

The GGC professional and lay advisory teams will remain in communication with the organization through duration of the project and will monitor progress based on agreed upon benchmarks outlined in a grant agreement. Organizations and projects showcased on our platform have agreed to provide mid- and end-project reports on outcomes, which GGC will share with our funders. We will also keep funders informed of any changes to the scope, budget or timeline.

Yes, absolutely! GGC will be delighted to arrange a remote visit and/or physical site visit. You also have the option to reach out directly to an organization and visit.

Yes. Collective wisdom is a key driving force for the GGC community. Within your member dashboard you can recommend a project that you feel would be a good fit for the community based on the criteria described above.

The Giving Group Community is a fiscally sponsored project of The Giving Back Fund (GBF), a public charity under IRS Section 501(c)(3) with EIN 04-3367888. GBF provides GGC with the required compliance, registrations, banking, accounting, auditing, legal, human resources, payment processing and grants management support. Donations made through the GGC platform are fully tax-deductible, to the extent allowable by law.
